How to Contact Cherokee County Planning and Zoning Commissioners
Planning & Zoning Commissioners are appointed and serve Cherokee in essentially a volunteer capacity.
Each Commissioner appoints 1 member, with 2 members being appointed at large. The Cities of Waleska and Ball Ground also have 1 member each appointed by their Mayor. This brings the total to nine members.
The invaluable service they provide to our County warrants our highest respect in any correspondence. The spend many hours studying the details of a re-zoning application, attending work sessions, and analyzing the ramifications of proposed re-zonings. They make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners, who have the ultimate decision authority.
